Sign in to your GameRant account Naruto's Uzumaki line originally hailed from the village of Uzushiogakure, which was properly introduced in Naruto chapter 500. Since then, the lore pertaining to the Uzumaki clan has slowly been built upon by author Masashi Kishimoto, and it continues in the Boruto series, which is written by Mikio Ikemoto under the supervision of Kishimoto himself. While the Uzumaki Clan was near extinct at one point, Boruto has seen to it that this clan is resurgent once again. In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex , Masashi Kishimoto is officially establishing the return of the Uzumaki clan and its official expansion into Konoha as one of the biggest and most powerful clans of all time . Naruto Uzumaki Has Officially Revived The Uzumaki Clan In Boruto Over the years, Konoha has taken in many members of the Uzumaki Clan, which include the likes of Mito Uzumaki, Kushina Uzumaki, and, finally, her son Naruto Uzumaki . Naruto is the Seventh Hokage of Konoha, and following the conclusion of the Fourth Great Ninja War, he stands as the official leader of the Uzumaki Clan in the village. While small, the Uzumaki Clan has finally started to branch out in this story. Naruto's wife, Hinata Hyuga, is now a member of the Uzumaki Clan as well, and his two children, Boruto Uzumaki and Himawari Uzumaki, are both members of this clan. Slowly, through this Uzumaki household, the clan is set to expand significantly in the future and finally be revived to the glory days once again. “My country no longer exists. Our Fuinjutsu were feared during the war, and eventually, our village was attacked and destroyed. The survivors apparently all scattered to various lands and went into hiding.” — Kushina Uzumaki explains the destruction of the Uzumaki Clan, Naruto Chapter #500 As we all know, the Uzumaki clan is incredibly powerful and especially well-versed in Sealing Jutsu . They even have a special base of Jutsu near Konoha, and this is the very same place that Orochimaru used to bring back the Four Hokage during the Fourth Great Ninja War in Chapter 619, on February 25, 2013. With all the prerequisites for re-establishing the clan present in Konoha already, the Uzumaki Clan is set to undergo a full revival in the future, especially as Boruto Uzumaki marries and has kids of his own. While once this village was completely destroyed and dismantled by its neighboring countries, it is now taking root in the strongest ninja village of all. Its strength is such that it can even be declared the strongest clan in the entire Konoha. “These are the ones who know everything. The ones who witnessed everything! The Four Hokage!” — Orochimaru brings back the Hokage, Naruto Chapter #618 Why Boruto Uzumaki's Romance Plotline Will Expand The Uzumaki Line For the full revival of the Uzumaki clan in the Boruto series, we need to take a look at the romance plotline of Boruto Uzumaki. Currently, Boruto is not romantically involved with anyone, but that is going to change soon because Mikio Ikemoto, the creator of the Boruto series, has paid special attention to romance. For Boruto Uzumaki, two romantic options are already set up in the form of Sumire and Sarada . In fact, Sarada is deeply in love with Boruto, which was officially confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 20, released on March 19, 2025, in Volume 5, and the same can be said for the former as well. Boruto also has somewhat similar feelings for the young Uchiha, while his feelings for Sumire are still unknown. Mikio Ikemoto is slowly building towards a plotline of love for Boruto Uzumaki, in which, more likely than not, he is going to end up with the young heir of the Uchiha clan together. If Boruto and Sarada end up getting married, they are set to expand upon the bloodline of the Uzumaki Clan as well and further expand this incredibly powerful clan. “At some point, I realized that I was spending more and more time thinking about him. That guy, he's always dealing with some kind of problem. As a teammate in the squad, I can't help but worry about him. After a while, I became unsure of my own feelings. And the fact that my thoughts were drifting that way made me feel like a bad person. But, you know, I've already stopped doing that. Sumire, I like Boruto.” — Sarada confesses her love for Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #25 On the other hand, if Boruto Uzumaki ends up marrying Sumire, the Uzumaki Clan wouldn't be as overpowered due to missing out on Sarada Uchiha. But it would still be significantly strong, especially due to her strong scientific background. No matter which way Mikio Ikemoto takes Boruto's romantic plotline, the Uzumaki Clan is set to undergo a huge revival and be pushed to a whole new level. Any kids that Boruto Uzumaki has with either Sumire or Sarada will further strengthen this clan and expand its influence in Konoha. What's more, Boruto and Sarada are two of the most powerful ninjas in the entire village. For them to be at the helm of this new Uzumaki clan would make this clan the absolute strongest in the village. There is also the case of Kawaki to consider, who was officially adopted by Naruto Uzumaki in the Uzumaki household. While he doesn't have the blood of the Uzumaki, he would still bear the name Uzumaki and continue this clan in his own way. As such, by the end of the Boruto series, the Uzumaki Clan is set to be fully revived with the strongest shinobi as its members. Test your knowledge. Himawari Uzumaki Will Further Expand The Uzumaki Bloodline Another interesting plotline to note is that of Himawari Uzumaki, whom Mikio Ikemoto is setting up a romance for as well. In her case, her romantic interest is none other than Inojin Yamanaka, who has already laid his life on the line for her on multiple occasions , such as Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10. Himawari and Inojin will end up together at some point in the future and then get married. Any children that they have together will also only serve to expand the Uzumaki Clan even further. Undoubtedly, by the end of the Boruto series, the Uzumaki Clan is going to be in a far better position than ever before and stand as a full-fledged clan consisting of some of the most powerful ninjas to have ever lived. In doing so, it will also dethrone the Uchiha and Senju Clans as the official strongest clan in history. Interestingly enough, expanding upon the Uzumaki clan to such a degree would also give Masashi Kishimoto a chance to explore their various Sealing Jutsu that were lost to time and, at the same time, give this clan enhanced prevalence. The Uzumaki Clan, despite suffering tremendously in the past, could potentially become the most important piece in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, and that is something that we are all eagerly waiting to see. Hopefully, Masashi Kishimoto continues the exciting story of the Uzumaki Clan soon and gives us new content pertaining to it.
