Sign in to your GameRant account Gods have always played a role in Dragon Ball, but they've only gotten more prominent thanks to Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball Super has introduced dozens of new Gods, from Destroyers, to Angels, and the literal creator of the multiverse. Toss in spin-offs like Super Dragon Ball Heroes, and the series' divine hierarchy becomes even more expansive. The Gods are generally the most powerful beings in Dragon Ball, but some extremely powerful fighters have broken their limits to actually kill a God. Killing a God is no easy feat in Dragon Ball. With just a few exceptions, only the strongest warriors alive have what it takes to put down a God once and for all. 8 Demon King Piccolo Killed Dragon Ball's Original God Gods Killed: Shenron Back in the day, there was only one God in Dragon Ball: the Eternal Dragon, Shenron. The literal Dragon God, Shenron was framed as a larger than life figure in the Pilaf and Red Ribbon Army arcs. In the manga, he literally takes up entire pages and panels with his presence, towering above the rest of the cast. In an amazing subversion, Toriyama kills off Shenron in his third appearance. During the Demon King Piccolo Saga, Piccolo successfully gathers all the Dragon Balls and wishes to restore his youth. Before Shenron vanishes, however, Piccolo quickly taunts the Dragon and kills him with a Mouth Energy Wave so no one can use the Dragon Balls against him. Shenron's death marks a major turning point in Dragon Ball, where the stakes are higher than ever and death feels final (for the moment, at least). 7 Kid Buu Wreaked Havoc on the Sacred World of the Kai Gods Killed: Western Supreme Kai, Northern Supreme Kai Kid Buu may not be the strongest version of Majin Buu, but he is easily the most dangerous. Kid Buu is a creature of pure chaos who wants nothing more than to destroy and fight. Before the events of Dragon Ball Z, Kid Buu took the Sacred World of the Kai by storm when he killed both the Western and Northern Supreme Kais. The Grand Supreme Kai tries fighting Buu, but is absorbed, creating Fat Buu in the process. Although Kid Buu was not originally a God, absorbing the Grand Supreme Kai made him a God. By the end of the Majin Buu Saga, the Grand Supreme Kai's absorbtion is so deeply ingrained in Majin Buu, that Kid Buu still has access to God Ki despite expelling Good Buu. 6 Goku Black Wiped Out Every God in His Multiverse Gods Killed: Goku, Every Supreme Kai, Every God of Destruction Goku Black has killed more Gods than anyone in the series other than Zeno himself. Goku Black is actually a version of Zamasu from a future timeline where Goku's power made him realize mortals were getting too strong. Coupled with his already deep-seated hatred of humanity, Zamasu forced Zuno to tell him everything about Goku, gathered the Super Dragon Balls, and swapped bodies with him. Now Goku Black instead of Zamasu, he kills Goku inside his old body and starts systematically wiping out every Supreme Kai in order to kill their linked Gods of Destruction. Goku Black then uses the Time Ring to do the exact same in Future Trunks' timeline, before personally terrorizing the youth for meddling in divine affairs. Wielding a mix of Kai Ki, God Ki, and Saiyan Ki enhanced by Goku's naturally high Power Level, Goku Black is one of the strongest warriors in the multiverse. 5 Goku's the Only Z-Fighter Who's Killed a God Gods Killed: King Kai, Kid Buu, Moro Goku's hardly the only Z-Fighters who's fought Gods at this point, but he remains the only one to actually kill one. In fact, Goku has killed a couple of Gods – albeit not always on purpose. During the Cell Games, Goku inadvertently kills King Kai when he uses Instant Transmission to teleport Cell off Earth. At the end of Dragon Ball Z, Goku ends up killing God Ki with a Super Spirit Bomb. In Dragon Ball Super, Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku kills Planet Moro, after absorbing Merus' Angelic powers and turning into a God started to corrupt Moro's body. Goku is stronger than ever as of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, ready to battle Black Frieza once and for all. 4 Cumber May Have Killed Yamoshi Gods Killed: The Original Super Saiyan God One of the main villains in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Cumber is called the "God Slayer," since he was the Saiyan who finished off the original Super Saiyan God. There's some debate on whether the first Super Saiyan God was either Yamoshi or a successor, but either way, Cumber would need to be extremely strong to kill an opponent using God Ki. He only grows more powerful by the events of Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Cumber is the strongest Ancient Saiyan in Dragon Ball history, and powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with CC Goku and CC Vegeta, two of the strongest fighters in the entire multiverse. Power-wise, Cumber scales to around Super Saiyan Blue Vegito, placing him above most of the canon timeline. 3 Hearts is the God Hater Gods Killed: Fused Zamasu The leader of the Core Area Fighters in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse, Hearts is the main villain of the Universal Conflict Saga. Hearts' goal is to create a multiverse where the Gods no longer exist, believing them to be threats to life above all else. In many respects, Hearts is a direct subversion of Zamasu. Perhaps fittingly, Hearts actually kills Fused Zamasu in Super Dragon Ball Heroes – which speaks to how strong he is, considering Zamasu is immortal. Power-wise, Hearts could only be defeated by CC Gogeta, who is quite possibly the most powerful character in Dragon Ball history. Hearts is not a for to be taken lightly, and his hatred of the Gods fuels him with immense power. 2 Beerus' Hakai Can Erase Anyone – Even a God Gods Killed: Zamasu Beerus is the strongest God of Destruction in Dragon Ball, and extremely dangerous. Every Destroyer can use Hakai, a destructive technique which can erase anything from existence. While investigating Goku Black in Dragon Ball Super, the Z-Fighters learn that he's actually Zamasu. In order to prevent his plot from unfolding in the main timeline, Beerus heads to Universe 9 and erases Zamasu from existence, marking the first on-screen death from a Hakai. A master of both Ultra Instinct and Destruction Ki, Beerus also proved himself the most powerful Destroyer in the Dragon Ball Super manga's Zeno Exhibition. In an attempt to entertain Zeno, the Gods of Destruction all battle one another, with Beerus quickly outmatching everyone except Quitela. There are very few beings in the multiverse who can actually rival Beerus, especially when he's fighting at full strength. 1 Zeno's Full Power is Terrifying Gods Killed: Every Angel, The Grand Priest Zeno has the highest kill count in the entire Dragon Ball franchise, being responsible for billions upon billions of deaths. In the main timeline, Zeno erases Universes 13 through 18, while Future Zeno wipes out Trunks' entire multiverse. Zeno erasing six entire Universes would mean killing their respective Gods of Destruction and Angels. In Future Trunks' multiverse, the Gods of Destruction and Supreme Kais are already dead because of Goku Black. While the Angles are inactive, they're still alive, as is the Grand Priest. Future Zeno now lives alongside regular Zeno in the main timeline, where they went on to briefly erase every Universe except 7 during the Tournament of Power. The scariest thing about Zeno's erasure ability is how instantaneously it is compared to the Hakai. One second, you're there; the next, you're gone.
