Intel is not back. Intel is simply no longer looking like it is running out of runway.
If you are asking whether Intel is back after earnings, the answer is no. The company's fourth-quarter 2024 results were strong enough to change the tone, not strong enough to erase the last several years of CPU-market losses, foundry spending, and AI-chip pressure.
Intel reported fourth-quarter 2024 results on Feb. 27, 2025. Revenue was $15.0 billion, up 10% year over year and slightly up quarter over quarter. GAAP net income was $2.6 billion, a major turnaround from the $2.7 billion net loss a year earlier.
The adjusted numbers were healthier too. Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.46, compared with $0.18 in the year-ago quarter. Full-year 2024 revenue reached $53.9 billion, up 13% year over year, and non-GAAP EPS was $1.70.
GAAP is the standard accounting view; non-GAAP is Intel's adjusted view, which excludes items management says are not core to performance. Both matter, because
