His life's goal wasn't to conquer, but instead to protect the ones he loved. This made him into a monster who terrorized the seas of the Grand Line and made his many enemies quake with fear. His strength reached such a level that only a handful of people ever came close to him. His Haki was of the highest order, and above all, his Devil Fruit was insanely overpowered. Whitebeard possessed the Gura Gura no Mi, which allowed him to create quakes at will. For this reason, he was said to have the power to destroy the world. The iteration of Whitebeard that One Piece fans saw during the Marineford Arc was merely a husk of his glory days. In his heyday, only Roger and Garp were seen as his equals. Even then, it was Whitebeard who came to be known as the strongest pirate alive. 5 Gol D. Roger Was Stronger Than Whitebeard Even Though He Was Sick Affiliation: Roger Pirates Roger was the first man who conquered the Grand Line, and he was rightfully given the title of the Pirate King. He was an exceptionally powerful character whose strength was respected by all, even his enemies. He was also a monster in battle who relied solely on Haki . Since Roger didn't have a Devil Fruit like Whitebeard, he honed his Haki to a level that no one had ever seen before. The mastery of Haki, along with his impressive physical abilities, helped Roger reach an incredibly high level. What makes his achievements even more impressive is that he was sick with an incurable illness for many years. Despite being sick, he kept on pushing forward to conquer the world. 4 Imu Has Dark Powers Used to Rule Over the Entire World Affiliation: World Government Imu is an individual who possesses limitless powers and is currently the strongest person in One Piece . He is an immortal who has lived for over a century and has manipulated almost every single important event in the world. His power is very mysterious and can't be fully explained, and he possesses a rare Devil Fruit named "Devil's Fruit," which grants him a multitude of powers. With the help of the Devil's Fruit, he can give powers to others who have submitted to his will. He can also conjure weapons and grant immortality to others. In the Elbaph Arc, Imu bested Loki and Luffy without any problems, which goes to show how superior he is to the rest of the fighters in the series. It is also worth mentioning that not even Roger and Whitebeard were able to hurt him. 3 Joyboy Was the Greatest Threat to the World Government Affiliation: Unknown Pirate Crew Joyboy was the first pirate in the entire world, as he was the man who directly opposed the World Government. Joyboy is a legend, but he is only known by a handful of people, mainly because the World Government did its best to erase his name from the annals of history. In terms of strength, Joyboy is arguably the only character who can match Imu. He was the user of Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika, the same Devil Fruit that Luffy currently has. The Devil Fruit enabled him to turn into Nika while also increasing his physical abilities. Joyboy's Haki was on a whole different level in comparison to the other characters in the story, as evidenced by its power in the Egghead Arc. When Emet unleashed the knot with Joyboy's Haki, it caused four of the Gorosei to be transported back to the Holy Land. Even Dorry and Broggy admitted that the Haki was much stronger than Shanks' own. It started all the way back in Skypiea, and it was explored further in Elbaph. In the current arc, the Warrior God was introduced to the fans as a deity who fought against Sun God Nika. The reason behind their battle hasn't been revealed, but it proves he was a very terrifying being, as no ordinary person would be able to match the Sun God. He was the wielder of the Ryu Ryu no Mi Model: Nidhoggr and was the first master of Ratatoskr. 1 Zaza Is The Goddess Who Is Feared Deeply by Celestial Dragons Image sourced by the author from the official release of One Piece chapter 1182 via Viz Media . Affiliation: Unknown Zaza is another deity who was introduced in the Elbaph arc. Like the rest of them, she has proved to be a fearsome opponent. Her powers are based around controlling water, and this makes her the bane of Devil Fruit users. Based on Killingham's manifestation of Zaza, she was a humanoid with four arms, and her body was made of water. She was also able to launch powerful streams of water that could even injure giants. Fans may get to learn more about her in the coming arcs, as she is feared by the world nobles.
