Sign in to your GameRant account In the One Piece franchise, there are two major aspects of the overall power system: Devil Fruits and Haki. The first consists of fruits that grant their users some amazing powers, and the latter is an outward manifestation of the user's will that can be used in a variety of different ways. As such, many of the strongest characters in the series tend to have either incredibly powerful Devil Fruits or immensely potent Haki, with the most powerful characters in One Piece having both. However, despite this, there are some figures whose Haki and general strength are so great that they don't even need their Devil Fruit. 6 Charlotte Katakuri Has Some of the Best Observation Haki Devil Fruit: Mochi Mochi no Mi Close Charlotte Katakuri uses Armament Haki in tandem with his Mochi-Mochi Fruit against Luffy in One Piece. Image via Toei Animation This may be a controversial pick for some, particularly because Katakuri has one of the most impressive Devil Fruit abilities in the entire series, and he himself is an incredible user of such a unique power. However, despite his masterful usage of the Mochi Mochi no Mi , Katakuri's fight against Luffy confirmed that he is also one of the best Haki users in the setting. Not only is Katakuri one of the few people in the world with the ability to use Conqueror's Haki, but he was also one of the first to show the Advanced Form of Observation Haki with Future Sight, which ended up giving Luffy one of the toughest fights in the series' history. While the Mochi Mochi no Mi makes Katakuri incredibly strong, his mastery of Haki proves he doesn't need it. 5 Big Mom's Durability and Haki Are Some of the Greatest Devil Fruit: Soru Soru no Mi Close Big Mom has two homies next to her. Image via Toei Animation. Big Mom's Devil Fruit is the Soru Soru no Mi, which is immensely powerful and gives her the ability to compound not only her own strength, but even that of her overall army. Although many consider it vital to Big Mom's legendary power due to the overwhelming might of her main Homies, such as Napoleon or Zeus, there is actually much more to her strength. In fact, Big Mom is arguably the most durable character in the entire series who also has incredible healing powers, making her an immensely tricky enemy to put down for good. On top of this, her mastery of all three Haki types is some of the greatest in the entire franchise, which is why she is considered to be one of the legendary Yonko. New Questions Added! Of course, the legend behind his overwhelming power largely stems from his Gura Gura no Mi Devil Fruit, which can create tremors on any surface that could supposedly destroy the entire world. However, even putting aside the frightening strength of the Gura Gura no Mi, Whitebeard is one of the most powerful figures in One Piece history, with such unparalleled control of Haki that he was always considered to be an equal to the Pirate King himself. In fact, each time they clashed evenly, they did so with Haki alone, implying he may have even been stronger than Roger. 3 Doflamingo Was One of the Few Conqueror's Haki Users Devil Fruit: Ito Ito ni Mi Close Donquixote Doflamingo creating strings with his Devil Fruit. Image via Toei Animation. Doflamingo smiles and puts a hand to his face. Image via Toei Animation. Doflamingo's Devil Fruit is one of the most unique in the series. Inherently, it's not very powerful, but the way Doflamingo uses it makes it one of the most versatile and dangerous fruits in One Piece . Although Doflamingo wouldn't be as strong as he ended up being without it, he definitely doesn't need it to destroy his opponents on the battlefield. Just like the others, Doflamingo has the ability to use Conqueror's Haki, said to awaken in just one out of every million people. His fight against Luffy in the Dressrosa Arc showed how strong he was and how potent his Haki could truly be. 2 Kaido Himself Placed Haki Above His Devil Fruit Devil Fruit: Uo Uo ni Mi, Model: Seiryu Close One does not gain the title of 'World's Strongest Creature' without being an absolute powerhouse. Although Kaido still had one of the strongest Devil Fruits in the setting, he always kept making it a point to tell Luffy that Devil Fruits aren't the true way to reach the upper echelons of strength in the world. Although the hybrid form of the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu admittedly did gift Kaido with immense physical strength and speed, the real reason why Kaido was able to make short work of just about everyone he faced and even defeated Luffy four times was because of his incredible control and mastery of the various Haki forms, proving that he really didn't need his Devil Fruit. 1 Joyboy Has the Strongest Haki of All Time Devil Fruit: Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika Close Of course, next to nothing is known about Joyboy's full power and abilities, with the only thing that's confirmed is the fact that he was the original user of Luffy's Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. However, despite being the greatest user of this power, it seems that the real reason behind his insane strength, and the reason why Imu fears him, was his Haki. Fans can only wait to see Joyboy in a proper combat situation once the Void Century flashback rolls around. Regardless, his Haki knot incident during the Egghead Arc not only defeated each of the five Elders, but it was also felt halfway across the world by Imu in Marijoa, making it the greatest Haki feat in the history of One Piece . With power like that, it's clear that Joyboy didn't need his Devil Fruit. One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll .
