Japanese supermarkets are selling lettuce wrapped in plastic featuring the face of Battle Royale actor Tatsuya Fujiwara to reduce food waste. The campaign, launched by Ajinomoto on July 21, 2026, aims to encourage shoppers to buy and finish more lettuce after finding that over 60% of people throw it away during summer.
