The Elder Scrolls Online is removing its Web Crown Store from the official website and changing its monthly Crown Store Showcase blog to a more list-like format due to reduced team bandwidth following Microsoft's layoffs. Players will still be able to purchase crowns via the website but must log into the game to view and buy items.
Alpha Dog Games, originally acquired by Bethesda in 2019 and later part of Microsoft Xbox, was shut down in 2024 but has been revived as an independent studio as of May 2025. The founding team reacquired the studio, though no details on their next project have been announced.
