Moana’s getting in on the Picture Pursuit action, and if you’ve been chasing down every event quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you already know what that means: another scavenger hunt. This time, she wants you to photograph four Kakamora Motifs hidden around her realm. Miss one, and you can’t claim the full reward slate. So let’s get you pointed in the right direction.
The Picture Pursuit: Moana quest is part of the larger Picture Pursuit event running in the valley right now. It’s a fairly straightforward photo hunt—no crafting, no cooking, just a lot of wandering and looking. The catch? The Moana Realm isn’t huge, but the motifs blend in with the scenery. You might walk right past one if you’re not paying attention.
Here’s the key: every Kakamora Motif is in the area where you first met Moana and Maui. That sandy beach with the bamboo huts, the wooden walkways, and the little rocky outcrops. You don’t need to venture into the deeper jungle or the water. Stay on the main island, and you’ll find all four.
First Kakamora Motif — On the rocky shore near the boat
Head toward the water where Maui’s boat is beached. You’ll see a cluster of rocks jutting out into the sea. The first motif is sitting right on top of the largest rock, almost like it was placed there for a photo op. It’s a small wooden carving of a Kakamora, and it’s easy to miss if you’re running past. Stand close and pull out your camera.
Second Kakamora Motif — On the wooden walkway near the hut
From the beach, follow the wooden path toward the main hut where Moana stands. Just before you reach the hut, look down. The second motif is tucked against the railing on the right side of the walkway, half-hidden behind a small potted plant. You might need to angle your camera to get a clear shot, but it’s there.
Third Kakamora Motif — In the sand near the palm trees
Walk past the hut toward the cluster of palm trees at the far end of the beach. The third motif is half-buried in the sand, leaning against a large seashell. It’s the most exposed of the bunch, but the glare from the sun can make it blend into the sand. Crouch down or move your camera closer to get a clean photo.
Fourth Kakamora Motif — Behind the bamboo fence near the entrance
This one’s the sneakiest. Go back to the realm’s entrance, where you first spawned in. There’s a low bamboo fence to the left of the portal. The fourth motif is wedged between the fence and a rock, almost invisible unless you’re looking from the right angle. Walk around the fence and you’ll spot it easily.
Once you’ve photographed all four, head back to Moana. She’ll wrap up the quest and you’ll earn your event currency, plus whatever other goodies are on the reward track. It’s a short detour, but a necessary one if you’re aiming to clear the entire Picture Pursuit board before the event ends.
Scavenger hunts like this are a staple of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s seasonal events, and they’re usually the most time-consuming tasks. But the Moana Realm is small enough that this one shouldn’t take more than ten minutes. Just remember to actually equip the camera before you start running around—I’ve definitely stood in front of a motif wondering why I couldn’t interact with it, only to realize I still had my fishing rod out.
