Ramux Descends on July 30
Amazon Games has confirmed that the Archboss Ramux will land in Throne and Liberty next week, July 30. Ramux, the last Dragon Knight, carries a grudge against humanity and wields icy devastation alongside her dragon partner Atirat. Players who take her down will earn new weapons themed around her frosty dragon aesthetic. The encounter is split into two distinct phases that demand coordination and quick thinking.
During the first phase, Ramux rides atop Atirat, raining down freezing projectiles from above. The second phase shifts when she absorbs Atirat's power and fights on foot, continuing her ice-based assault. A ballista sits on the battlefield, purpose-built for dragon-slaying—but Ramux is smart enough to hunt anyone who tries to use it. Expect the AI to prioritize ballista operators aggressively. This is a proper raid boss, not a pushover.
Two Phases of Icy Chaos
The aerial phase evokes the thrill of dogfighting, like a fantasy version of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. You'll need to dodge sweeping frost attacks while positioning teammates to fire the ballista. The ground phase swaps mobility for raw magical pressure—Ramux becomes the damage dealer herself. Neither phase allows for slack tactics.
If you were hoping for a relaxed encounter, this isn't it. A Short Hike this is not. The two-phase structure is more direct than something like 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim's layered narrative, but it's also more demanding in real-time coordination. Bring a guild, bring your best gear, and bring patience.
Frozen Divide Nix Fixes Address Player Pain Points
Alongside the Ramux preview, Amazon detailed a batch of fixes for issues introduced by the Frozen Divide Nix update earlier this summer. The developer acknowledged that certain instanced field events were too punishing. To remedy that, they're lowering the required player count for those events and increasing the completion time windows. This should make high-difficulty content more accessible without removing the challenge entirely.
Other targeted changes include:
- Removing the Shemir's Armillary Sphere repair step from the Oath of Nails and Sparks questline. That repair step was a tedious bottleneck that interrupted flow; cutting it streamlines progression.
- Fixing pathing and travel functionality for the Aethersuit and Auroral Path. These mobility tools were buggy after the update, making traversal frustrating. The patch aims to restore smooth movement.
- Multiple additional tweaks to event pacing, quest objectives, and reward consistency.
These changes reflect a broader pattern in live-service MMOs: listen to player feedback, react quickly, and prioritize quality-of-life improvements. For a game still finding its footing post-launch, responsiveness matters as much as content drops.
What This Means for Players
The Ramux fight gives endgame players a fresh challenge and a reason to re-engage with coordinated group content. Meanwhile, the Frozen Divide Nix fixes address the frustrations that made the summer update feel incomplete. If you stepped away because of buggy movement or tedious quest steps, now is a good time to check back. Between a new Archboss and a more polished world, Throne and Liberty is aiming to keep its momentum strong heading into August.
