But lots of GOTY-contenders from the past are also steeply discounted right now. Death Stranding 2, which came out last summer and is only a year old, is a good price at $40, and Spider-Man 2 is just $30 ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. If you’re willing to get the PS4 versions of some of these games, they’re even cheaper. As players have been repeatedly reminded in recent years, digital games can be more convenient, but they’re also less permanent. With Sony pulling the plug on physical games in less than two years, we’re coming up on some of the last chances to own tomorrow’s classics in a disc that will stay playable long after whatever happens to Sony servers.
