Sign in to your GameRant account The Uchiha clan is one of the most prestigious clans to exist in the world of Boruto and Naruto. Over the years, it has been central to the overarching plotline of the series, with it serving up some of the biggest heroes as well as villains of this story. In the Boruto series, specifically in the Two Blue Vortex story, the Uchiha clan is more important than ever before, with Sarada and Sasuke being the two main drivers of this plotline. That said, the Uchiha Clan is getting its new heir in Two Blue Vortex in the form of Boruto Uzumaki, Sasuke's own protege and the boy who wields all the secrets of this Clan, despite not bearing the Uchiha name, just like Kakashi. Sasuke Uchiha Led As The Head Of The Uchiha Clan In Boruto At the beginning of the Boruto series, on May 9, 2016, the Uchiha clan was officially led by none other than Sasuke. Originally, the clan was annihilated completely by Itachi Uchiha, who, with the help of Obito, stopped a coup, leaving behind Sasuke as the last known survivor within the village. Since then, the Uchiha clan has come far, and Sasuke Uchiha, its last known survivor, helped save the world in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Sasuke then established the Uchiha clan from scratch, just as he always wanted to, and by marrying Sakura Haruno, he restarted this clan once again. “My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things, and I don't particularly like anything. What I have is not a dream, as I will make it a reality. I'm going to restore my clan and kill a certain someone.” — Sasuke announces his goal, Naruto Chapter #4 Sasuke currently has one child, Sarada Uchiha, who is the heroine of the Boruto series, and aims to become the Hokage. While Sarada is truly the strongest Uchiha that is currently active in the Boruto series, she doesn't wield all the secrets of this clan. In the three-year time skip of the Boruto series, some moments of which were shown to us in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5 on December 20, 2023, it was officially confirmed by Sasuke Uchiha himself that all the secrets of the Uchiha clan are now drilled into Boruto Uzumaki as well. This makes him the true heir of the clan leader, despite not wielding the crest of the Uchiha on his back. Boruto: Master, what do you think? I've mastered the Uchiha Style pretty well now, right? Sasuke: True. This past year, I suppose I've taught you almost all the moves and methods I know. — Sasuke Uchiha confirms he's taught Boruto all secret Uchiha techniques, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #5 After Sasuke, Boruto Uzumaki Wields All Secret Uchiha Abilities The Uchiha Clan's most prized asset is the Sharingan, which can be evolved into the Mangekyo Sharingan and then made Eternal as well. However, that is not all this clan has going for itself. The Uchiha Clan has many hidden abilities as well as special ways of fighting. For instance, the Uchiha have their own style of Shurikenjutsu, and at the same time, there is Uchiha Kenjutsu as well, which is special. The Uchiha also hold extremely good control over fire release and have special techniques that they are proficient in. There are many other Uchiha techniques that Sasuke himself developed for the sake of the clan, and as confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5 on December 20, 2023, all these techniques are now drilled into Boruto Uzumaki. Code: Uchiha, you!!! How dare you take my eye? Sasuke: Listen closely, Boruto! There's no way we can win against him right now. So escape. Survive at all costs and build on the skills that I've hammered into you. Then nobody will be able to stop you. — Sasuke asks Boruto to improve on the basics, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #5 Despite him not being an Uchiha, he is privy to the deepest secrets of the clan, including special abilities. Of course, Boruto does not have the Sharingan, so he cannot use the abilities that can only come through the Sharingan, such as the Susanoo. But all other powers that can be utilized without the Sharingan are wielded by him already and have been fully mastered over the course of three years. In some ways, Boruto knows more Uchiha techniques than even Sarada Uchiha, and that might come as a shock to some fans of the series, as it would make him a more worthy heir to the Uchiha Clan than Sarada. Boruto And Sarada Could Revitalize The Uchiha Clan Together While Boruto knowing more hidden techniques of the Uchiha clan might pit him against Sarada in the minds of some fans, the fact is that Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto are actually lining them up to get together. Boruto and Sarada are romantically set up by the author, as highlighted in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 25 on August 20, 2025. This means that come the end of the series, it is highly likely for them to end up together. Sarada is deeply in love with Boruto Uzumaki and has put her life on the line for him on multiple occasions. Similarly, Boruto has laid his life on the line for her as well and deeply cares for her. A romantic plotline between them has already been established in the series, and we are eager to see what it leads to. "At some point, I realized that I was spending more and more time thinking about him. That guy, he's always dealing with some kind of problem. As a teammate in the squad, I can't help but worry about him. After a while, I became unsure of my own feelings. And the fact that my thoughts were drifting that way made me feel like a bad person. But, you know, I've already stopped doing that. Sumire, I like Boruto." — Sarada confesses her love, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #25 If Boruto and Sarada do end up together, then they will form the strongest unit of the Uchiha Clan to have ever existed. Boruto is privy to the deepest secrets of the Uchiha Clan, thanks to Sasuke, while Sarada holds the Sharingan and Mangekyo Sharingan, both of which are the strongest assets of the Uchiha Clan. As such, together these two could revitalize the Uchiha Clan like never before and expand upon it significantly. Of course, for this plotline to bear fruit, we will have to wait for years because, as things stand, the Boruto series is nowhere close to wrapping up. Currently, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is in the beginning phase of a new arc, which puts extra focus on Sarada Uchiha as well as Hidari, the Shinju created using the DNA of Sasuke. At the same time, Boruto Uzumaki is at the center of it all, as it was his plan that led to Sarada's kidnapping in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 36 on July 20, 2026. Boruto and Sarada are expected to combine their strength in the battle against Hidari, and we absolutely cannot wait to see what romantic implications this battle has for these two individuals. At the same time, the new arc is likely to result in another boost for the Uchiha Clan with the return of Sasuke at the very end, following the acquisition of Hidari's Thorn Soul Bulb. In many ways, this arc is pivotal for the resurrection of the Uchiha Clan and putting it back on top as the strongest clan to exist in the Naruto world. Hopefully, Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto deliver in that regard, and we absolutely cannot wait to see Sasuke train even further with Boruto and instill in him the true values of the Uchiha Clan to make him even stronger than he already is. Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 36 is available to read for free via Manga Plus and Viz Media. Chapter 37 is scheduled for a release in V-Jump Issue #11 on September 17, 2026.
