Dragon Ball Super Reveals Strongest God in Toyotarou's Series Comeback

The Dragon Ball Super manga has been on hiatus since February 2025, but Toyotarou has been dropping countless hints that the series will be back, right down to confirming on X that "everything is for the return of the series." With this in mind, Jump Victory Carnival 2026 announced that Toriyama would reveal new art. Ahead of Dragon Ball Super 's official return in the Fall, Toyotarou has drawn artwork of the strongest God in Universe 7 – and perhaps the entire multiverse after Zeno – Beerus himself. The Dragon Ball Super remake will be named after Beerus, suggesting he'll be playing a much larger role than he did in both the anime and manga. With Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol rumored to premiere after Dragon Ball Super: Beerus remakes the Universe 6 Tournament, Toyotarou's Beerus art could be a sign the manga is soon to return. Doubly so considering the image sports a new logo that hasn't been seen anywhere. The Greatest God of Destruction is Ready to Return in Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Toyotarou's Jump Carnival Special Illustration for 2026 was officially revealed to be artwork by Beerus. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is set to air this Fall, so it makes sense Toyotarou would synergize by showing off Beerus in his full power. All signs point to Beerus being an even more prominent main character in the remake. Interestingly, Toyotarou's illustration features a brand-new logo for Dragon Ball Super that hasn't been used elsewhere, even in the two upcoming anime. Toyotarou previously debuted this new logo at the end of last year for Jump Festa 2026, in an illustration featuring Goten and Trunks. This redesign may very well be the manga's new logo, which Toyotarou would not have created unless he was actively working on the series. Without Toriyama around to guide him in the right direction, it's a safer option for Toyotarou to work on chapters in a batch rather than trying to wing things week by week. This would explain why the hiatus has been so long, as well as Toyotarou's hints towards the Black Frieza Saga coming soon. Dragon Ball Super Could Have a More Realistic Art Style When the Manga Returns Close Toyotarou's art style has evolved a lot since the manga went into hiatus, and it's likely that Dragon Ball Super will look very different once the series returns. Toyotarou's recent art aims for a more realistic and muscular style, versus the softer lines and features Toyotarou has historically used in the manga. Based on just how the Z-Fighters look on the cover of Dragon Ball Super Volume 24, Chapter 105 could open with characters looking more detailed. Hopefully, it won't be much longer until the manga comes back. The Dragon Ball Super anime is officially back this Fall, so the manga returning alongside with it would be the perfect form of synergy. More importantly, Toyotarou needs to come back and start releasing chapters for the Black Frieza Saga before the anime gets around to Moro. If the manga waits too long, Dragon Ball Super 2 won't be able to keep pace without delaying the story for years.
