Mordenkainen, Volo, and Tasha Unite in New D&D Comic to Stop a Draconic Apocalypse

Three of Dungeons & Dragons' most iconic named characters—Mordenkainen, Volo, and Tasha—are finally teaming up for a proper adventure in a new Dark Horse Comics series launching this November. The wizard Mordenkainen, stripped of his magic, must rely on the traveling scholar Volo and the witch Tasha to prevent a draconic apocalypse. This isn't just a fun crossover for lore nerds; each issue will also include in-game stats and lore for the dragons featured, making the comic a functional tool for Dungeon Masters running their own campaigns.

The ongoing series, announced at a July 23 San Diego Comic-Con panel, comes from Eisner Award-nominated writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, known for their work on Star Trek and Kang the Conqueror. Ibraim Roberson (Star Wars: The High Republic, Uncanny X-Men) handles pencils, with inks by Arabson Oliveira, colors by Dan Brown, and letters by Haley-Rose Lyon. The first issue drops on November 4 and is available for preorder now at $4.99.
